Q: How do I bid?

A: Once you locate an item that interests you, enter your ID #, password, bid amount or AutoBid amount, and submit your bid. For more information on bidding and our AutoBid feature, click
here. For strategies and helpful hints about bidding, click here.

Q: What does Reserve Auction mean?

A: A seller sets a hidden reserve price which is the amount he/she is willing to sell an item for. The bidding on the lot will start below the reserve in hopes that bidder participation will drive the price up and over the reserve. In a reserve auction, you will see either of the following two notices in the middle of the gray bidding area: The Reserve Price for this item has not been met, or The Reserve Price for this item has been met.

Q: I placed a bid, but I was immediately told I was outbid? What is happening?

A: This will happen when another bidder has used our
AutoBid feature. AutoBid allows a bidder to bid more than the minimum required amount while still allowing him/her to pay only what the competition requires. For example: Let's say the current bid amount is $30 and the high bid is $27, and someone places a bid in the amount of $40 using AutoBid. This will create a new bid amount of $33. No one knows the high bid is $40 unless someone decides to bid above it. AutoBid gives bidders the freedom to leave their highest bid knowing they may not have to pay that much if they win the lot. This is especially helpful if you are unable to get to a computer for the last few moments before the auction is set to close. If, however, you bid $35 (using the example above), you will be told you did not bid high enough, and that someone has used AutoBid. If AutoBid is being used by a bidder, it is indicated with a small red circle next to the current winning bidder's name.

Q: Can I increase my bid on an existing lot?

A: Yes. At anytime you can increase your bid, even if you are the high bidder. This is helpful if you may not be able to raise your bid at a later date prior to the close of the auction.

Q: How can I check the current status of an item?

A: There are several ways to check on an item's current bidding status. If you have not yet placed a bid, one way would be to view our categories and sub-categories by clicking
here. Another way would be to search our search engine by clicking here. If you have already placed a bid(s), the best way would be to check your current Auction Watch by clicking here. Q: How can I find out what a lot sold for?

A: If you bid on an item and are successful, FDCAuctionCentral will notify you vie E-mail. If, however, you miss out on an item, or just want to know what a particular lot sold for, you can do so by entering our Winners Area by clicking
here. Once inside, you can browse all categories and view sold lots. This area is generally quite large. We recommended that you write down the item number(s) that interest you and search for them in this area. You can search for key words too, however, item numbers are generally unique and will result in less matches to your search. Remember that sold lots do not remain in this area indefinitely. They are removed to make way for new arrivals.

Q: What do I do if I can't contact the seller by e-mail?

A: Please keep in mind that many people are not able to check their e-mail every day. You may request additional contact information about another registered user by clicking here. Often times a phone call can resolve most misunderstandings. FDCAuctionCentral expects sellers and buyers to make contact within 3 business days from the close of the auction.

Q: I won an item, but the seller can't or won't deliver. What can I do?

A: This rarely occurs. Unfortunately, FDCAuctionCentral is unable to force a seller's hand. However, there may be a reasonable answer. Ask the seller for an explanation, and remember, you may also leave feedback about your experience with this seller at AuctionRate for the entire community to see by clicking
here.
